My son is so good at helping me with my dolls that I thought it would be cool to have an AG quality boy doll. Has anyone done this or even thought about doing it?

Not particularly difficult. Just peel off the wig and apply a boy-style wig. Not that I have any compelling desire to do it myself...

I have not made one, but have thought about it. Our generation (Target) made a boy, Jack, a few years ago. He goes for too much money IMO on ebay for the quality of the doll. I would love to make a boy, too!

I have thought of making an AG doll to represent Ben in Felicity's stories.

I bought a Gotz doll at Ebay and gave her a hair cut so now she?s a "he"! I went very slowly cutting the hair because I was afraid to ruin the doll completely. Unlike Taffy I?m not apt at putting on wigs. It sounds kind of scary so I?ve never done it even though Taffy put up some very detailed instructions. I thought I?d buy a wig if I messed the haircut but luckily I didn?t!
The poor thing?s got nothing to wear but girls? panties right now. Having just about NO time at all I haven?t gotten around to sew him briefs and a decent pair of trousers. One of these days... *wishful thinking*
As Barbara said the Jack doll is way to expensive. Since the dolls don?t have "boy" face moulds you can easily get a cheaper doll and just try your luck with a sharp pair of scissors. Look out for AG dolls on Ebay whose hair is ruined anyway!
One word of warning: you will have to cut the hair shorter than you think! I wanted to keep the hair below the ears but that way I couldn?t get a "boy" look. It looked just like a girl with a page cut.
Be sure to let us know about your male addition to your doll family!

I have a girl AG that I gave a short haircut. She's now one of my favorites with her little, Dorothy Hammil bob.
You'll definitely have to cut it mega short to make it look like a boy.

UbaRose has made boy dolls. They have Molly and Felicity's whole families!

No real-for-sure boys but Tsuki, Finn, Robin and Juli have shorter hair than they're supposed to and obligingly take the lead in formal dancing, etc. Robin and Juli flatly refuse to wear skirts. If you have a hair dresser whom you know well, I would have the prospective boy's hair cut professionally. I used to add an extra $10 when I got my hair cut and my hair dresser had a lot of fun cutting the doll's hair at the end of my appointment. Tsuki and Finn's hair (and the original Juli's) was cut that way.

What an interesting question! An 'American Boy' doll. (Or 'friend' if boys wanted to collect them.) Actually, I think it'd be a great idea. I think 'Roger' (Kit's older, supportive brother) or better yet, 'Ricky' Molly's mischievous? 12-year old brother. (Boys would probably identify well with him. LOL!) If they ever do create one, I'll be one of the first to order!

We have a second-hand Benjamin from Faithful Friends. I cut his hair more than what it was originally. He frequently wears Felicity's riding breeches and a white blouse the tricornered hat, wireframe glasses and Felicity's knee socks and shoes. He also wears Kit's overalls and shirt and boots or the flannel shirt from an older AGT set. It's tough to find clothes for boys. Ben enjoys being barefoot most of the summer and hangs out in Felicity's riding breeches and is always picnicing with the girls. He would like a friend of the male persuasion and we are looking for someone to makeover! This one is going to have freckles and get some "out in the sun" color!
It's hard to find shoes to fit him also. Most of the AG shoes don't fit! He can fit in the old black hightop sneakers though!
